MANAGEMENT
Randy Hayes, Founder, has been involved
in automated software testing for two decades. A utility called "Session
Recorder" that Mr. Hayes created in 1983 formed the basis for AutoTester,
Inc.
AutoTester was the pioneer of the automated software
testing industry, which is now represented by companies with multi-billion
dollar market values. AutoTester's revenues in 1998 were $14 million.
After AutoTester, Randy co-founded WorkSoft with
his sister, Linda Hayes. WorkSoft, is the maker of Certify,
a cross platform automated testing application that allows business analysts,
rather than programmers, to develop automated test procedures.
Fidelity Investments was the first customer for this
product, which is now being used extensively by their analysts to create
complex test scenarios to verify business processes that span multiple
applications on the company's network.
Charles Schwab recently completed a highly successful
R&D project in which Certify was used to automate testing of mainframe,
client server and Web applications, aimed at establishing Certify as the
corporate standard for automated testing.
IBM signed a private label agreement to market Certify
to their mainframe customers, calling it IBM Enterprise Test Suite.
In addition to pioneering efforts in the automated testing
industry, Mr. Hayes' accomplishments include:
-
co-authoring a multimedia CD-ROM course called Adult
Literacy which is used in libraries, prisons and community colleges
across the country.
-
developing PC Copilot, a software product that allows
handicapped people to operate a spreadsheet, word processor and email
program using only spoken commands.
-
developing E-Meet, a collaborative brainstorming
tool allowing people in different locations and time zones to work
on problem solving tasks together.
-
developing two animated multimedia CD-ROM games
- Jungle Games, based on the Lion King movie, and Monty Python's Search
for the Holy Grail.
