Exemplar Technologies
CapCal Founder Randy Hayes contracted with Exemplar Technologies to develop the first version of the CapCal technology in June of 2000, and since then it has been under constant development and testing by Mr. Hayes. Exemplar Technologies leverages the advances in component framework architecture to create advanced Web applications. Exemplar brings the sophisticated design skills of serious C++ software developers into the Internet arena.

Executive Staff:
Joshua Ellinger, Chief Technical Officer and co-founder, has 15 years experience in software design, development and management. He also has extensive experience in the development of three-tiered internet applications and implementation of artificial intelligence systems. He has authored three issued patents.
Prior to founding Exemplar, he was a senior scientist for Pavilion Technologies in Austin, TX, where he designed and developed advanced algorithms for data mining, training neural networks, and constrained optimization.
He also pioneered vertical software applications in the area of process control and was lead research developer on Pavilion's Process Perfecter software product, which earned the 1997 KPMG ICE award for product of the year in Austin. This product has also won a Reader's Choice award from Control Magazine for the past three years. He is a graduate of University of Texas with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Frank Smejkal, CEO and co-founder. Frank has over eight years of experience in all phases of business management, product development and operations, marketing and advertising, project management, accounting, corporate duties, due diligence, and negotiations.
Frank also has six years of Web site development experience, including HTML, DHTML, Java, Javascript, NT, CGI, SQL, ASP, Interdev, and Access.
Steve Piche, PhD, VP Product Development. Dr. Piche has 15 years of experience in the areas of product design, analytic development, management and intellectual property protection. Dr. Piche's research has been focused in the areas of neural networks, statistics, adaptive systems, and economic models.
Dr. Piche has authored two issued patents and over ten pending patents and has been published in numerous academic and industrial journals. He is the former Director of Research at Pavilion Technologies of Austin, where he was lead designer of Pavilion's Process Perfecter software product,
Prior to joining Pavilion Technologies, Dr. Piche was a member of the technical staff in the neural network group at the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation (MCC) of Austin. Dr. Piche earned his Electrical Engineering doctorate from Stanford University.

FirstVertex services include 3d modeling and animation, broadcast animation, multimedia development, Internet/intranet design/architecture, graphic design, print production/coordination, and promotional/event marketing and materials.
FirstVertex was founded by Peter Hayes and Heath McBurnett who have a combined 20 years experience in the corporate design, entertainment graphics, and software development industries. In addition to their digital art and business skills, both founders have extensive experience with natural media art including illustration, painting, sculpting, and traditional animation.
